Case Study

Situation

FEMEXFUT´s office building was in the Mexico City neighborhood of Roma and its training center was in a different location in a southern area of the city. In 2014, FEMEXFUT decided to begin the construction of a new headquarters that could merge both technical and administrative components in one same location.

JLL was selected as Project Manager, responsible to manage and coordinate all elements of the Project and be the go-to contact between the client, contractors, and consultants. The building was designed by the Mexican firm Arroyo-Solís-Agraz in collaboration with Oxígeno Arquitectura to lead the interior design.

The Project was developed in 8.5 ha of land. It has a central office building with three floors (15,000m2 of office space), six football fields, parking lots and outdoor areas. The building has a capacity to welcome up to 300 employees.

How we did it

JLL Mexico was responsible for the selection, hiring, and coordination of contractors, consultants and advisors who made the development of this project possible.  Due to the relevance of the organization and international exposure, around 20 companies with international experience were coordinated by JLL´s project managers for the execution of this project.

JLL conceived a high-quality project that complies with all national and international standards as well as global standards required for an international sports institution. JLL was also responsible for coordinating and supervising all specialists required for the project.

Due to its size, design, and diversity of characteristics that both parties demanded, one of the main challenges was to merge the corporate components with the areas dedicated to the sport.

Results

The main building, football fields and additional facilities were completed in a 12-month period. This project was built to fit the needs of many green building standards and complies with all the standards that FIFA requires for the official training courts.

The project received the award of "Building of the Year" by Obras Magazine in the category of Corporate Interiors. It was also awarded a silver medal at the Mexico City Architecture Biennial.
